My name is Matilda (Tilly) McCarroll, I am 15 years old and a very committed event rider. I attended the Equestrian Boarding school, New England Girls School (NEGS) located in Armidale, about 7 hours from Sydney (my home town). I have been riding for about 13 years. I am extremely lucky to be sponsored by Rose-Hip Vital and Koolabah Equine Massage Therapy and Performance Horses.
I started riding when I was just 3 years old. Having grown up around horses it was bound to be in my blood. My late dad used to teach me the basics of riding. My mum (Sheridan McCarroll) has a huge part in my riding career. She is always there for me and tries to help me in every way possible.
What I love about my discipline is the thrill of it. The feeling when you accomplish something with your horse after working really hard for weeks or even months. From going out of the start box in cross country to entering at “A” in a dressage arena, it’s all about the connection between you and your horse. Although this discipline is very dangerous, it is also very rewarding. The adrenaline rush in cross country is definitely my favourite part of the sport. When I finish my cross country round, I always feel proud to be doing what I am doing. This is definitely a sport I will be doing for as long as I can.
I have been using Rose-Hip Vital Equine for about a year now and the difference I have seen in my horses is incredible. Within the first month or two, I saw a huge difference in the shininess of their coats. My high level event horse Tom, a 1* 17 year old WB x TB eventer, was showing small signs of arthritis in his left front cannon bone when we vet checked him to buy. He didn’t seem to be in pain but did have a slight limp (which didn’t effect his performance in any way) and after about 3 months of using Rose-Hip Vital Equine we saw a huge difference! He is now moving more freely and his coat is gleaming! My other lower level event horse Macca, a very green 9 year old QH x TB has been on Rose-Hip Vital Equine for the same amount of time and he is definitely at his peak in performance and look wise!
