In 2008, while volunteering with the not-for-profit, ClothesLine, our founders Colin and Maureen Diamond first learned about Rose-Hip Vital. After deciding to try this revolutionary, all-natural anti-inflammatory themselves, they experienced firsthand just how powerful its joint health and wellbeing benefits truly were. They decided to bring the supplement to the United States.  

Starting with little knowledge of pharmaceuticals or complementary health, the Diamonds grew the brand from scratch. They set up their humble headquarters and assembled a dedicated team that remains with them today.  

With two generations of Diamonds leading the way and a loyal team, Rose-Hip Vital is truly a family affair. Rose-Hip Vital originated from a simple quest—to find a natural remedy for inflammatory pain. This is a mission that remains central to our purpose today. 

Historically known as the ‘Dog’ rose, Rosa Canina berries were originally harvested from wild regions of South America and Southern Africa. As the reputation of these naturally medicinal berries spread globally, they found their way to Europe, where the first European rosehip farmers refined their cultivation techniques. 

In Denmark, specifically on his family's farm in Langeland, Erik Hansen developed a patented manufacturing process that remains unrivaled worldwide. This process uniquely unlocks the potent anti-inflammatory properties of the rosehip berry through the activated galactolipid, GOPO^®. 

Hansen’s journey began from a personal struggle with chronic osteoarthritis in the early 1980s. Dissatisfied with conventional treatments, he experimented with rosehip marmalade and was astonished by its effectiveness. Inspired, he cultivated his own rosehip bushes and meticulously refined drying and extraction methods to maximize potency. 

The testimonials poured in from arthritis sufferers who found relief using Hansen's product, propelling the family farm's growth and reputation. 

In 1995, Hansen’s son took over 5000 letters of gratitude from clients to Fredricksberg Hospital at the University of Copenhagen, where in-vitro studies confirmed the product's remarkable efficacy in reducing inflammatory pain. 

From its humble beginnings on the family farm, the enterprise has expanded to 200 hectares, employing over 40 full-time farmers under the name Hyben Vitals ApS.
