Dosage & Administration

This page contains everything you need to know about dosage and administration of Rose-Hip Vital Canine, so that you and your best mate are set up for success.

Rose-Hip Vital Canine is a comprehensive anti-inflammatory, antioxidant & wellbeing supplement for dogs, made with one natural ingredient – pure rosehips. Our unique rosehips contain GOPO®, an anti-inflammatory galactolipid that is isolated and activated only when our patented manufacturing processes are utilized.

It has no known side effects, meaning they won’t experience the nasty side effects associated with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It also has no contraindications, so your dog can safely take it alongside any existing medication.

To ensure the best results from our powder, it’s important to follow our recommended dosage guidelines. These are based on extensive data from over 30 scientific studies. Rose-Hip Vital has been clinically-proven to delivery comparative pain relief benefits to traditional non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), when our recommended usage guidelines are adhered to.

New User? Start Here.

Welcome to the Rose-Hip Vital family! If you’re introducing your dog to Rose-Hip Vital for the first time, understanding the difference between the loading and maintenance dose is key. They’re outlined here:

The Loading Dose: double the maintenance dose, taken for the first three weeks

The Maintenance Dose: the regular dose, to be taken after the loading dose finishes

Studies into our supplement indicate that starting with an initial loading dose accelerates your dog’s joint health & mobility improvement. Because we want your dog to be happy and pain-free as quickly as possible, we recommend that all new users start with our loading dose.

If your dog has finished their first tub and is starting on their second, they do not need to take the loading dose. As they’re not a new user, they can continue on the maintenance dose.

If your dog is in peak physical health, our loading dose isn’t essential to see results. You can choose to start your dog at the maintenance dosage and they will still benefit from Rose-Hip Vital’s anti-inflammatory and wellbeing benefits.

Please note, many users choose to continue their dog on our loading dose after 3 weeks, or re-introduce it later if they feel their dog needs added anti-inflammatory & antioxidant support. Some instances include when their dog is in recovery from surgery or injury, has significant joint pain, are having an allergic skin reaction, or are older and experiencing mobility issues. Rose-Hip Vital is 100% plant-based, making this perfectly safe to do.

Dosage Guidelines by Weight

Every tub of Rose-Hip Vital Canine includes a convenient 2.5g scoop, equivalent to 1 level teaspoon, to help you accurately measure your rosehip powder dosage.

Our rosehip dosage for dogs is calculated based on their body weight. We’ve included a chart to the right.

As a reminder, the loading dose refers to the initial higher dosage period recommended for all new users. We recommend following the loading dose for 3 weeks, then dropping to the maintenance dose.

How to Administer Rose-Hip Vital Canine

You can easily mix the powder into your dog’s regular food, ensuring the food is at room temperature or cooler to maintain the supplement’s efficacy.

For dogs fed twice daily, you can split their daily recommended dose between both meals.

If needed, you can mix a small amount of water into the powder to help it incorporate with other food.

For Dogs Under 7.5kg

For miniature breeds weighing less than 7.5kg, we recommend halving our lowest dose. This equates to 1 scoop (2.5g) daily for the loading dose period, and half a scoop (1.25g) daily for their maintenance dose.

Rose-Hp Vital is 100% plant-based, so there is no reasonable risk of overdose. Any excess powder is naturally passed in your dog’s excretion.

Tips for Fussy Eaters & Sensitive Stomachs

Rose-Hip Vital Canine is typically well-received, but if you happen to have a fussy eater, or a dog with a sensitive stomach, we recommend starting small and gradually increasing the daily dose as tolerance is established.

We recommend introducing a pinch or two initially, and incrementally increasing this dose daily until you reach the loading dose. At this point, remain on the loading dose for 3 weeks, before dropping back down to the maintenance dose.

Safety Information

Rose-Hip Vital has been extensively researched and has clinical backing, making it an incredibly safe supplement for your dog. It has no contraindications, meaning it can be safely introduced alongside existing medication. It also has no known side effects, unlike other NSAIDs, which are associated with gastrointestinal and cardiovascular discomfort.

Improve your dog's joint health and wellbeing

Reduce inflammation, protect cartilage and boost immunity

Rose-Hip Vital® Canine is a plant-based anti-inflammatory and immune system support for your dog’s joint health and general well-being. Made from Rosehips manufactured with patented processes, Rose-Hip Vital® Canine is scientifically and clinically proven to reduce inflammation, protect cartilage, improve general health and improve performance.

Patented extraction and drying processes isolate and activate the compound GOPO® which has scientifically proven anti-inflammatory and antioxidative properties. GOPO® works by stopping excess white blood cells from gathering around inflamed tissue, thereby helping to break the cycle of inflammation and protect cartilage. Rosehip products that do not contain GOPO® have not been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
